Business Analyst-Financial Re-Write

The Business Analyst-Financial Re-Write plays a critical role in supporting the Financial Rewrite Project by partnering with business and technical stakeholders to understand Legacy financial systems, gather requirements for new processes, and ensure alignment with regulatory and operational standards. This role focuses on translating complex Claims and financial workflows into clear, actionable requirements for development teams. Additionally, this role is part of a Large Enterprise Data Warehouse Transformation.

Key responsibilities include leading requirements gathering sessions, documenting current and future state processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement, and supporting the design and testing of financial data pipelines and system integrations. The BA will also collaborate closely with Claims, finance, billing, and other IT teams to ensure the rewritten financial systems meet business needs, maintains data integrity, and comply with internal controls and audit requirements.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. All experience levels will be considered, with the job title adjusted accordingly.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements for financial data and development teams.
  • Perform basic data analysis using tools like Excel and SQL
  • Partner with the technical team to ensure proper understanding and build solutions
  • Facilitate effective meetings with peers, Business users, and Stakeholders
  • Partner with business users and stakeholders to prioritize issues
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Identify projects risks and issues; communicate and escalate accordingly
  • Understanding of business processes and data lifecycle
  • Participates as required in Unit Testing and User Acceptance testing
  • Triage and troubleshooting of Production support issues

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent combination of education/experience Associate or bachelor’s degree in an IT related field, with business analysis experience in related field
  • Knowledge of the SDLC, business processes and technical aspects of data pipelines and business intelligence outcomes
  • Experience with data profiling, data mapping, and data analysis
  • Proficient in SQL for data mapping, extracting, and validating source data to enable accurate reporting and data feeds
  • Experience with large system design and implementation
  • Collaborative team member with a strong ability to contribute positively to team dynamics and culture (Team and culture fit)
  • Highly motivated, organized, and self-starter
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates thought Leadership
  • Able to prioritize and work through multiple tasks

PREFERRED:

  • P&C Insurance industry experience
  • Claims, Billing and Finance experience
  • Agile methodology
  • Experience with Duck creek Software Solutions
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
