Business Development Executive

This role focuses on identifying high-quality opportunities, engaging prospects through structured and strategic messaging, and converting qualified leads into meetings and long-term clients.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in Upwork profile optimization, strategic bidding, and client qualification , particularly for AI, ML, Web, and Mobile App Development services .

Experience Required

  • 1.5–2 years of hands-on Business Development experience on Upwork
  • Proven portfolio of Upwork profiles managed, demonstrating:
    • Profile optimization
    • Strategic bidding
    • Consistent interview and meeting generation


Key Responsibilities

Upwork Profile Management & Optimization

  • Optimize and maintain Upwork profiles to improve visibility, invites, and response rates
  • Implement keyword, category, and positioning strategies aligned with Upwork best practices
  • Monitor and analyze profile performance metrics such as views, clicks, and Job Success Score (awareness level)


Lead Generation & Proposal Management

  • Identify and evaluate high-quality, relevant project opportunities on Upwork
  • Write customized, client-focused proposals tailored to client requirements and technical scope
  • Manage connects efficiently to maximize proposal ROI
  • Maintain consistency in proposal quality, messaging, and response rates


Reporting & Internal Collaboration

  • Track and report key performance metrics, including:
    • Proposals sent
    • Client responses
    • Meetings/interviews booked
  • Maintain structured records using ClickUp or similar project management tools
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure proposal accuracy and alignment

Required Skills

  • Strong proposal writing and client communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of Upworks bidding and ranking system
  • Ability to qualify leads and identify high-intent opportunities
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
