Job Description: Business Development Manager – MENA Region

Position Overview: We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead our growth and client acquisition initiatives across the MENA region. The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in IT services sales, specifically in custom software development, and demonstrate a consultative sales approach, high accountability, and a proven ability to generate revenue exceeding USD 1 Million receivables annually. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct market research to identify, qualify and prioritize opportunities across UAE, KSA, Qatar, Egypt, and other key MENA territories.

- Develop and execute regional go-to-market plans in alignment with organizational strategy.

- Engage C-level stakeholders across private and public sector clients with tailored software solutions.

- Own the complete sales cycle

– prospecting, needs assessment, proposal creation, pricing, negotiation, and closure. - Ensure compliance with local norms including language/localization, regulatory nuances, and proposal submission formats.

- Maintain a predictable sales pipeline and deliver accurate forecasting through CRM systems.

- Represent smartData at trade shows, conferences, and industry events across the region.

- Coordinate closely with delivery, operations, and client success teams for project initiation and smooth handovers.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field; MBA preferred. - Minimum 8 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in software services sales. - Proven experience in consultative/solution-based selling across MENA markets.

- Arabic proficiency or working knowledge is highly preferred. - Willingness to travel across the region (30–40% travel).

- Strong understanding of client buying behaviour in GCC and North Africa.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

1. This is a full-time position based in the MENA region. While the candidate may reside in any key MENA city, they must either be stationed in Dubai or available to meet with smartData’s management in Dubai every 2–3 months.

2. Candidates must have legal residency or immigration status permitting them to work in their location of residence. This includes holding valid local work permits, business licenses, or other verifiable legal documentation. The responsibility for obtaining and maintaining these documents lies solely with the candidate.

3. Applicants must provide credible and verifiable proof of prior sales success in software services across MENA markets.

4. The selected candidate will also be required to travel to smartData's India HQ at least twice annually, or more if business needs require.
