Job Title: Business Development Manager Shipping & Logistics


Job Summary:

We are looking for a strategic and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) with 5 to 10 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong industry network and an existing client portfolio, enabling them to bring in immediate business and expand our market presence across a comprehensive range of shipping and logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to acquire new clients and grow revenue across all shipping and logistics services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance, air and sea freight
  • Leverage existing client relationships to generate immediate sales opportunities and increase market share
  • Identify potential business opportunities through market research, networking, and industry events
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters, and logistics companies
  • Lead sales negotiations and close contracts to meet or exceed business targets
  • Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt business strategies accordingly
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior management
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of proven business development or sales experience in the shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry
  • Demonstrable success in generating and closing business deals, with a strong existing network and client portfolio
  • Deep understanding of shipping products and logistics solutions, including customs and import/export regulations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as lead cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (even a basic level of Arabic will do)
  • Valid driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory

Preferred:

  • Established contacts within shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters, and air and sea freight operators
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management
