Backed by significant investment and a globally recognised maritime group, our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead high value tendering activity and drive strategic client engagement across its expanding shipyard operations.


Your Opportunity


This is a key commercial leadership role within a rapidly scaling shipbuilding and repair platform. With growing regional demand and international integration, the business is building a best-in-class commercial function to match its technical capability.


You will take ownership of bid strategy, client relationships, and commercial delivery, playing a central role in securing and executing complex maritime projects.


Your Mandate


In this high-impact position, you will bridge engineering expertise with commercial execution:

  • Lead Tendering & Proposals: Manage the full lifecycle of tenders, estimations, and bid preparation for shipbuilding and repair projects across various vessel types.
  • Drive Commercial Strategy: Develop winning pricing and commercial frameworks aligned to market conditions and operational capability.
  • Own Client Relationships: Act as the primary interface for key regional clients, including government and defence stakeholders.
  • Strengthen Market Position: Support expansion across GCC markets, leveraging existing networks and identifying new opportunities.
  • Ensure Commercial Rigour: Implement structured processes across bidding, risk evaluation, and contract negotiation to support sustainable growth.

You

We are targeting a commercially driven maritime professional with strong technical grounding and regional experience:

  • Experience: 10 years within shipyard, ship repair, or maritime engineering environments, with a focus on commercial management and proposals.
  • Technical Background: Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
  • Regional Expertise: Strong GCC experience with an established client network.
  • Language: Native Arabic speaker.
  • Capability: Demonstrated success in tenders, estimations, bid preparation, and client management.
  • Profile: Comfortable operating at senior level, engaging directly with executive stakeholders and driving outcomes.
