Business Development Manager – Sales (EdTech Industry)
Salary Range:
₹35,000 – ₹70,000 per month
(Based on Experience, Skills, and Performance)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, driven, and highly strategic Business Development Manager – Sales to lead our growth initiatives in the dynamic EdTech sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both B2B and B2C sales, deep experience in managing teams, and the ability to develop and close high-value deals consistently. This is a high-impact role where you will directly contribute to expanding our market reach and building long-term partnerships with educational institutions, corporates, and individual customers.
Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Sales:
- Own the end-to-end sales process from lead generation to deal closure in both B2B and B2C environments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in corporates, educational institutions, training partners, and individual customers.
- Develop tailored sales strategies for different segments to maximize reach and conversions.
- Drive lead generation efforts through cold outreach, networking, digital channels, and industry events.
- Achieve and exceed monthly targets, including closing at least 2 MOUs every month with institutional or corporate clients.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales executives to ensure targets are met consistently.
- Set clear individual and team goals, provide training, performance feedback, and regular coaching sessions.
- Monitor team performance through CRM reports and regular reviews, and implement corrective strategies when necessary.
CRM Management & Reporting:
- Efficiently manage all leads, opportunities, and pipeline activities using CRM tools (Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.).
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of client interactions, status updates, and deal progress.
- Generate comprehensive sales reports, forecasts, and analytics for senior management to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the EdTech space.
- Recommend product improvements, pricing adjustments, or go-to-market strategies based on customer feedback and industry insights.
Strategic Partnerships & Brand Representation:
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with educational institutions, corporate training providers, and industry bodies.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, webinars, workshops, and networking events to build visibility and authority.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and align lead generation campaigns with overall business strategy.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Ensure a high level of post-sale engagement, customer satisfaction, and retention.
- Act as a key point of contact for major accounts, resolving issues and identifying upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience, mandatory in the EdTech industry.
- Proven track record in both B2B and B2C sales cycles, with a strong focus on closing large deals.
- Experience in managing and leading a sales team.
- Proficient in using CRM tools (Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.).
- Multilingual communication skills – Ability to converse fluently in at least 2 or more languages (local + English).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and take strategic decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, industry events, and workshops.
