Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong focus on Upwork to drive lead generation, client acquisition, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in bidding, proposal writing, and converting Upwork leads into long-term clients.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and bid on relevant projects on Upwork
Write customized, high-conversion proposals based on client requirements
Manage and optimize the company’s Upwork profile, portfolio, and ratings
Communicate with prospects to understand project needs and close deals
Negotiate pricing, scope, and timelines with clients
Coordinate with internal technical teams to align client requirements
Track proposal performance, response rates, and conversions
Maintain strong relationships with existing Upwork clients
Ensure timely follow-ups and professional communication
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a BDE / Upwork Bidder
Proven track record of winning projects on Upwork
Excellent proposal writing and communication skills
Strong understanding of IT services (Web, Mobile, DevOps, Digital Marketing, etc.)
Ability to analyze job posts and identify high-value opportunities
Experience with CRM tools and lead tracking
Strong negotiation and client-handling skills
Ability to work independently and meet targets
Nice to Have
Experience with LinkedIn lead generation
Knowledge of Fiverr, Freelancer, or other freelance platforms
Understanding of international clients and time zones
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of proposals submitted vs. responses
Conversion rate from lead to closed deal
Monthly revenue generated
Client retention and repeat business
