Business Development Officer

Job Summary

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for the firm in areas including taxation, audit, corporate compliance, company registration, and advisory services. The role requires strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks in Pakistan, particularly SECP and FBR regulations, and the ability to build long-term professional relationships with corporate clients, SMEs, and startups.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Acquisition & Revenue Growth

  • Identify and onboard new clients for services such as:
  • Company incorporation and compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP)
  • Income tax and sales tax registration & filing with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)
  • Audit & assurance services
  • Corporate restructuring and advisory
  • NGO / Section 42 company registrations
  • Develop proposals, financial quotations, and engagement letters.
  • Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

  • Maintain working knowledge of:
  • Companies Act 2017
  • Income Tax Ordinance 2001
  • Sales Tax Act 1990
  • SECP e-portal filings
  • FBR Iris portal processes
  • Guide potential clients on compliance requirements and statutory deadlines.

3. Market Development & Networking

  • Develop relationships with:
  • Startup founders
  • SMEs and corporate finance departments
  • Banks and legal advisors
  • Real estate and construction groups
  • Represent the firm in chambers of commerce, trade bodies, and professional events.
  • Coordinate digital outreach campaigns (LinkedIn, corporate networking platforms).

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Conduct client meetings to understand business structures and compliance needs.
  • Coordinate internally with tax, audit, and legal teams to ensure service delivery.
  • Maintain client database and follow-up system.

5. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Maintain sales pipeline and conversion reports.
  • Submit weekly BD performance reports to management.
  • Track retainer agreements and recurring compliance clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of business development experience, preferably in a CA firm, audit firm, or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of SECP and FBR procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Pakistan’s corporate and tax compliance environment.
