Business Development Officer

About the Role

Applab is a Microsoft Gold Partner and one of Qatar's leading AI and enterprise technology companies, serving government entities, energy sector clients, and major commercial organizations. As we scale our growth and ventures division, we are looking for a Business Development Officer who is built for one thing: closing complex enterprise deals.

This is not a lead-generation role. You will operate at the final mile of our sales cycle, working alongside senior leadership to convert high-value opportunities into signed contracts. You will be deeply involved in shaping proposals, structuring commercial terms, and presenting to senior government and enterprise stakeholders across Qatar and the wider GCC.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal & Deal Architecture

  • Lead the development of sales presentations, Statements of Work (SOWs), and commercial proposals for enterprise software and AI engagements.
  • Structure deal terms in coordination with technical, legal, and finance teams to ensure proposals are competitive, compliant, and profitable.
  • Translate complex technical solutions into clear, persuasive value propositions tailored to government and enterprise buyers.

Government & Public Sector Engagement

  • Manage and advance active opportunities with government ministries, regulatory bodies, and public sector entities in Qatar.
  • Navigate formal procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, and tender submissions, ensuring compliance with public sector requirements.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with decision-makers and procurement officers across government accounts.

Partner & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Act as the connective tissue between Applab and clients to move opportunities from qualified to contracted.
  • Coordinate with Partner’s account teams to align on co-selling opportunities, and partner incentive programs.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level pitch decks and product demonstrations for C-suite and government stakeholders.

Pipeline & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate deal tracking and forecasting, with clear visibility into pipeline health and projected close timelines.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing client base, particularly in government and commercial sectors.

Requirements

Essential

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in B2B enterprise technology sales, business development, or pre-sales, with a demonstrable record of closing deals above QAR 500K.
  • Proven experience managing government or public sector deals, including familiarity with Qatar or GCC procurement processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality presentations, SOWs, and commercial proposals independently.
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills, comfortable engaging C-level and government decision-makers.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platform ecosystems.
  • Prior exposure to AI, digital transformation, or enterprise software solutions in a sales or BD capacity.
  • Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage for stakeholder engagement in the Qatar market.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

What You Will Be Part Of

At Applab, you will work at the intersection of AI, enterprise technology, and some of Qatar's most significant digital transformation programs. Our clients include government ministries, energy sector leaders, and major commercial organizations. We are a Microsoft Partner with a growing footprint across the GCC, and this role puts you at the center of our most strategic deals.

  • Direct exposure to high-value, complex enterprise and government deals.
  • Close collaboration with senior leadership and partner teams.
  • Work on AI-powered solutions and enterprise platforms at the frontier of Qatar's digital agenda.
  • A team culture that values initiative, ownership, and professional growth.
