About the Role


We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our client's team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process from start to finish - including sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and products. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Source, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• 
  Create and issue purchase orders while maintaining accurate records in the ERP or purchasing system.
• 
  Monitor inventory levels and work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure adequate supply.
• 
  Review purchase requisitions and confirm specifications, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• 
  Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to optimize company spend.
• 
  Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
• 
  Maintain strong communication with internal departments such as Accounting, Operations, and Production.
• 
  Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports to identify cost savings or efficiency opportunities.
• 
  Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and alternative suppliers.
  
  

Qualifications

• 
  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
• 
  2-5 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buyer role.
• 
  Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• 
  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems preferred.
• 
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 
  Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
