Buyer - Elk Grove Village, IL

Established for over 50 years, Yamazen Inc. is a leading importer and distributor of quality CNC manufacturing machinery, including machine tools and injection molding machines. We service manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace, construction equipment, medical, and I.T. industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization.
• Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
• Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information.
• Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Supports contract negotiation with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Assesses financial risks of purchases and proactively engages with management and/or third-party vendors to identify potential alternatives that help manage costs.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Supports data and analytics needs associated with identifying trends, maintaining KPIs, and strengthening individual, department, and organizational performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field is preferred.
• Infor Syteline or CloudSuite Industrial ERP experience is preferred.
• 2-4 years of supply chain or experience in a related field required; purchasing, procurement, and/or inventory management experience is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
• Comfort/willingness to continuously learn and expand skill sets.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, build consensus, and work with cross-functional teams.
• At least two years of supply chain or experience in a related field required; purchasing, procurement, and/or inventory management experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

Range: $63-91k
