Riphah International University seeks a dedicated and organized Cafe Supervisor to manage kitchen operations within the hospital environment at IIMCT Pakistan Railway Hospital, Rawalpindi. The successful candidate will oversee a team of five staff members, ensuring the provision of high-quality, hygienic, and patient-centered dietary services. This role requires a strong commitment to hospital nutrition, food safety, and patient care standards, with a focus on maintaining compliance with healthcare quality and patient safety protocols. The Cafe Supervisor will be responsible for administering all aspects of patient diet services, including the coordination of food preparation, procurement of kitchen supplies, and implementation of effective systems to evaluate and deliver patient diets as per medical instructions. The role demands strong leadership skills to manage the kitchen staff effectively and maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, all while upholding Islamic and medical ethics in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive systems for evaluating patient diets to ensure alignment with medical requirements and ward requests.
  • Supervise purchasing, supply chain management, and utilization of kitchen items to prevent wastage and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to provide accurate and timely patient diets in accordance with prescribed medical instructions.
  • Lead and manage a team of five cooks and kitchen staff to maintain consistent quality in meal preparation and service.
  • Maintain rigorous kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards to comply with healthcare and food safety regulations.
  • Address and resolve patient and ward complaints related to diet promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction and care quality.
  • Maintain detailed stock registers tracking daily inventory inflows and outflows of kitchen supplies for accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of food and service delivery within the hospital setting.
  • Organize and manage patient diet requests in adherence to hospital policy and dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all dietary services align with Islamic ethics and medical best practices to support patient wellbeing and institutional standards.
  • Comply fully with healthcare quality standards and implement patient safety measures throughout kitchen and diet service operations.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills to foster teamwork, resolve conflicts, and promote a supportive working environment.
