Job Title: Cake Decorator

Department: Pastry
Reports To: Head Pastry Chef

Job Summary:

The Cake Decorator is responsible for designing, preparing, and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other bakery items according to customer requests, seasonal themes, and company standards. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and consistency to ensure high-quality presentation and taste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and decorate cakes and desserts according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Prepare icings, fondants, glazes, and fillings.
  • Maintain consistency in quality, portion, and presentation.
  • Ensure all decorated products are visually appealing and ready for display or delivery.
  • Manage custom cake orders, ensuring accuracy of details and timely completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the Head Pastry Chef.
  • Collaborate with bakery and pastry teams to meet schedules.
  • Stay updated on new cake design trends, techniques, and tools.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cake Decorator or Pastry Artist.
  • Strong artistic and creative skills.
  • Good knowledge of cake decorating techniques
  • Attention to detail and ability to replicate designs consistently.
  • Time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Experience in high-volume pastry kitchen.

Experience:

  • Cake Decorating: 2 years (Required)
  • working in high-volume bakery or pastry kitchen: 2 years (Required)
