Job Purpose
To lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for multiple categories of the Raw Materials portfolio for the Group. Create standards and manage all transactional work to manage day to day business including, system, polices, compliance. Meet all external stakeholders and contract all external suppliers from quotation seeking perspective, RFQ. This will include managing a team of Strategic Procurmenet Managers, that will be creating cost estimates and forecasts and developing medium to long-term strategies for each category. Leading high value negotiations for cost-effective contracts with key suppliers and overseeing assigned P2P Buyers through dotted line reporting. Plan, manage, direct, and control all activities of procurement to ensure on time availability of material & services at optimum cost to the user base by rationalizing the demand and generating value. Maintain expertise of multiple categories for effective category management through specific supply chain solutions resulting from advancements and breakthroughs in business practices, implementation of innovations and initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Lead the development of strategic short to long-term goals in line with business plans through effective Category And Strategic Sourcing Strategies impacting controllable P/L of Local and ID Business.
Lead PDCA – Plan do check and act for the function.
Seasonal crops volume planning with supply team to secure orders for 12 months planning.
Strategize the expansion/optimization of Supplier Base for each Category (locally and/or globally) based on deductions from market analyses resulting in optimal pricing, mitigating risk, reduction of lead times and improved supply network.
Driving sourcing decisions based on business cases developed by team through all Strategic sourcing activities of understanding business demand, external environment and supply market analysis, risk assessments and identification of opportunities for driving value.
Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
Inventory management to keep stock at required levels vs inflated levels
Contribution in driving change through process improvements and changes in status quo for long-term enterprise benefits.
People
Driving results through team of Procurmenet Managers & (P2P) Buyers, implementation of Category and Strategic Sourcing Strategies.
Building capability across team.
Identifying areas of development and develop appropriate tactics to address them.
Business Continuity & Risk Management
Risk Assessment of assigned Categories/Portfolio and development of Mitigation Plans
Lead development of Post Award Contract Management plans to ensure business continuity, appropriate risk management, and driving value through life of contract/long-term supplier relationship.
Stakeholder Management
Lead Business and related cross-functional team members’ engagement periodically, at different levels for managing expectations, communicating developments, identifying and reporting out risks, presenting innovative supply chain solution/category strategies and building consensus
Partner with business to drive entriprise first initiatives.
Identification and Key Suppliers and Strategic Partners for managing relationship and driving value through collaboration and business partnering techniques as part of Supplier Relationship Management Plans.
Maintain Supply market and external environment network for market intelligence both locally and globally.
Compliance
Drive Supplier Performance Management through effect Post Award Contract/Relationship Management. Monthly KPIs review and reporting of supplier and internal
Accountable for implementation of Procurement Policy and/or other relevant policies that impact own area of work.
Report out Risks for appropriate action
Ensure implementation of all law/regulations-enforced clauses in contracts/terms of agreement.
Maintain transparency, integrity and best practice processes.
Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
12+ years diversified experience in Supply Chain; including 6 years of supervisory experience, 4 of which must have been in the Procurement functions
Degree in food sciences, Business or Engineering/relevant science fields from HEC recognized university.
Optional Certified Procurement/Supply Chain Professional
Understand technical specification of agri materials for e.g. chilli, cooriandar, cumin and the difference between dry product procurement vs. agri procurement
Understand working with non developed sector in compliant manner
Understand forecasting of agri materials and price fluctuations behind season, weather conditions, geo political situation and preampt buying
Strategy development and implementation
Knowledge of material standards, Supply Chain best practices, commodity trends, market intelligence, strategic objectives both locally and Globally that impact related supply network.
Project Management
Understand technology that can monitor crop yields, land quality
Supplier Relationship Management, tools and tactics. Supplier performance measures
