Job Purpose
The Catering Manager oversees the planning, organization, and execution of catering events. The role combines operational, managerial, and customer-facing responsibilities to ensure exceptional catering experiences are delivered consistently.
Key Responsibilities1. Event Planning
- Coordinate with clients to plan weddings, corporate functions, parties, and other events.
- Prepare event proposals, including menu options, pricing, and service packages.
2. Menu Development
- Develop customized menus based on client preferences, dietary needs, and event themes.
- Collaborate with chefs to create innovative and appealing dishes.
3. Vendor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors such as food suppliers, rental companies, logistics providers, and florists.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet quality and service standards.
4. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers and bartenders.
- Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all events.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Develop and manage event budgets.
- Monitor expenses to ensure events remain profitable.
6. Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
- Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
7. Event Logistics
- Coordinate all event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and transport of equipment.
- Ensure smooth execution of all event components and adherence to timelines.
8. Food Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas.
9. Quality Control
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet company standards.
- Address any issues related to food quality or consistency.
10. Sales & Marketing
- Promote catering services to attract new clients and maintain existing ones.
- Participate in marketing activities such as tastings, exhibitions, and promotional events.
11. Inventory Management
- Manage and monitor food and supply inventory to ensure availability for events.
- Place orders and track stock levels as needed.
12. Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during food preparation and service.
- Train staff on safety procedures and protocols.
Critical Skills & Competencies
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-end food or catering operations
- Strong passion for culinary and hospitality excellence
- Excellent knowledge of food display, presentation, and catering décor
- Strong customer service background
- Effective leadership and team management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Fluent in both Arabic and English
- Customer-focused mindset
- Solid understanding of food safety principles
