CHEF BBQ Section

Job Summary:

The BBQ Section Chef is responsible for preparing, grilling, and presenting high-quality BBQ dishes according to the restaurant’s standards. He/she ensures proper food handling, hygiene, and efficient operation of the BBQ section while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook BBQ items such as grilled meats, chicken, seafood, and vegetables according to recipes and standards.
• Marinate and season meats following approved recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Operate and maintain BBQ grills, ovens, and related kitchen equipment safely.
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the BBQ section at all times as per food safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the kitchen supervisor for timely replenishment.
• Reduce food wastage by proper storage and portion control.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) method for food storage.
• Assist in menu planning and suggest new BBQ items when required.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff for smooth service operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Handle peak hours efficiently while maintaining quality and speed of service.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a BBQ Chef or Grill Chef in a restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Knowledge of BBQ techniques, marinades, and grilling temperatures.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit to stand for long hours and work near hot equipment.
• Certification in Food Safety (preferred).
