Chief Accountant

2010 Global Sources is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to delivering excellence across its operations. With a growing footprint in Qatar, we are looking for a strategic and results-driven Chief Accountant to lead our finance function and ensure strong financial governance.

Position Overview
The Chief Accountant will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This leadership role requires a highly experienced professional who can manage financial strategy, optimize processes, and provide critical insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management
• Ensure full compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and international accounting standards (IFRS)
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support business decisions
• Monitor cash flow, financial risks, and cost control initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
• Strong expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Proven experience in managing teams and improving financial systems
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
