Chief Accountant (OMANI National Only)

Purpose of Job:

· The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting

operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards

and regulations, and effective financial controls. The role plays a key part in financial

planning, budgeting, and decision support for management.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 1. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets) and Ensure sales are recorded and appropriately accounted. 2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supervise and mentor accounting staff ensuring timely month-end and year-end closings. 3. Ensure compliance with and not limited to, IFRS and local tax regulations etc and prepare and issue all compliance reports required by various parties such as Ministries, the Group, and for internal use. 4. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. 5. Coordinate internal, external audits, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities and respond to audit findings. 6. Maintain strong internal controls and risk management procedures. 7. Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities. 8. Lead and manage tax filings and liaise with tax authorities. 9. Monitor operating costs, payroll, and departmental expenses; conduct variance analysis.

10. Oversee fixed assets accounting, including property capitalization, depreciation, and revaluations. 11. Manage revenue recognition of sales of residential and commercial properties, along with issuing appropriate sales documents to the purchaser. 12. You may be assigned to other responsibilities to meet the department's targets and goals.

Principal Challenges:

· Understanding and keeping update on accounting / IFRS standards, Tax Regulations,

Transfer Prancing, VAT and other relevant compliance requirements.

· Accomplishing tasks under strict timelines.

· Performing and managing multiple assignments simultaneously.

· Ensure ERP segments knowledge is up to date.

Minimum Academic / Professional Qualification:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA)

· Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and Omani tax regulations

· Experience with accounting systems such as Oracle and SAP.

Minimum Work Experience:

· Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with proven exposure to real estate and/or

hospitality.

· Professional experience in Oman or the Gulf Region is an advantage

· Experience in Real estate/ Hotel /Facility Management/Construction industry will be

given preference.
