Chief Technology Officer - Venture Lead

Overview of the Role

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Disrupt, you will lead the charge in driving technological innovation, spearheading backend architectural excellence, and ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of our global technology platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across industries, lead high-performing technology teams, and align our tech strategy with business objectives to maintain Disrupts leadership position in the global SaaS landscape.

Core Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

• Define and execute the overall technology vision, strategy, and roadmap to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Drive innovation across Disrupts SaaS brands by identifying and integrating cutting-edge technologies and frameworks.
• Build scalable backend architectures capable of handling high traffic and data volumes while maintaining system reliability and performance.

Security and Compliance

• Implement advanced security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization to safeguard data and systems.
• Ensure all technology systems comply with industry standards and cybersecurity regulations.

Team Development and Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of senior backend architects, engineers, and developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Empower team members to grow and innovate while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.

Collaboration

• Work closely with product management, DevOps, and front-end teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality products.
• Serve as a bridge between technical teams and executive leadership, translating technical challenges into business opportunities.

Optimization and Performance

• Continuously monitor backend systems for performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Oversee the adoption of microservices architectures, cloud-native technologies, and CI/CD pipelines for operational efficiency.

Project and Budget Management

• Manage large-scale technical projects, ensuring delivery within timelines and allocated budgets.
• Assess build-versus-buy decisions to optimize resource allocation and deliver value quickly.

Strategic Growth

• Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, Blockchain, IoT) and integrate relevant solutions to future-proof Disrupt’s tech infrastructure.
• Provide strategic insights on scaling technology infrastructure to support business growth globally.

Key Skills & Expertise

• Proven experience (10+ years) in backend architecture, technology leadership, or similar roles.
• Expertise in backend technologies including Java, Python, Ruby, or PHP.
• In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and database systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of security principles and implementation of secure systems.
• Proficiency in Agile/Lean methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related fields (MBA is a plus).
