The QA/QC Civil Engineer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of civil engineering works in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements. The role includes inspecting, monitoring, and documenting all civil construction activities to ensure compliance with quality plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures and standards for civil construction projects.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of materials, workmanship, and construction methods.
- Supervise and coordinate quality inspections with site subcontractors and vendors.
- Ensure that all work meets contract requirements, design specifications, and relevant codes.
- Prepare and maintain inspection and test reports (ITPs), material approvals, NCRs, and other QA/QC documentation.
- Monitor and report on quality-related trends and issues.
- Coordinate with the construction team, consultants, and client representatives on quality matters.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions for non-conformance issues.
- Provide training and guidance to site staff on QA/QC procedures and standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–7 years of experience in QA/QC roles in civil engineering or construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance standards, codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, IS), and construction materials testing.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and related documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and QA/QC software tools.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Certification in QA/QC or construction quality management is a plus (e.g., ASQ, CSWIP, ISO Lead Auditor).
