About the Role :

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of design and supervisory consultancy services for major transmission infrastructure projects in Oman, including the Batinah 400kV, KIS 400/220kV, and Barka WTE 220kV projects.

The role will focus on civil engineering design, site supervision, and infrastructure development related to high-voltage substations and transmission facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the design and planning of civil works related to transmission infrastructure, substations, and utility facilities.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, design calculations, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and feasibility studies to evaluate project conditions and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Support construction supervision and site monitoring, ensuring works are executed according to approved designs.
• Assist in the preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and resource planning.
• Monitor construction activities and coordinate with contractors to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical submissions, and as-built records.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to support project approvals and implementation.
• Identify potential risks and propose engineering solutions to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in civil engineering design and construction supervision.
• Strong experience in infrastructure projects, utilities, substations, or transmission facilities.
• Experience working on large-scale energy or utility infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Experience working in engineering consultancy environments is preferred.
• A master’s degree or professional certification is considered an advantage.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil engineering design software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Experience with site supervision, construction monitoring, and contractor coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
