Job Summary:

The Civil Estimation Engineer – Pricing will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and pricing proposals for civil engineering and infrastructure projects ofthe United States. This role involves analyzing project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine accurate material quantities, labor costs, and equipment requirements. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction methodologies, and experience in cost estimation for civil works such as roads, highways, utilities, earthworks, and site development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil, structural, and site work components.
  • Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on current market pricing and historical data.
  • knowledge of procurement and subcontractors to obtain and validate vendor quotations.
  • Prepare bid proposals, pricing sheets, and supporting documentation for tenders and design-build projects.
  • Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and scope compliance.
  • Conduct value engineering studies to optimize project cost and efficiency.
  • Assist in risk assessment, budgeting, and forecasting of project costs.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, pricing benchmarks, and estimation tools.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
  • Coordinate with design, project management, and construction teams to ensure cost alignment throughout project development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of relevant experience in civil estimation, cost engineering, or preconstruction within the USA construction industry.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in estimation and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HeavyBid, RSMeans, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of US construction standards, codes, and pricing databases.
  • Familiarity with various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CMAR, etc.).
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working under tight deadlines.
