1. Workforce Supervision & Productivity

  • Labor Management: Directly supervise and manage all assigned construction workers, including sub-contractor teams. Allocate daily tasks, set clear targets, and monitor performance to maximize productivity and output.
  • Resource Allocation: Organize and deploy necessary manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to the specific work fronts as instructed by the Site/Project Engineer.
  • Scheduling: Execute the daily and weekly work plans provided by the Site Engineer, ensuring all activities are performed on schedule. Report any roadblocks or delays immediately.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior workers and laborers on proper construction techniques, methods, and quality standards.

2. Technical Execution & Quality Control

  • Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure the work is executed exactly as per the approved design and dimensions.
  • Setting Out: Verify initial setting out, alignment, and levels for all civil elements (e.g., formwork, blockwork, finishes) before and during execution.
  • Quality Compliance: Conduct continuous inspections of work in progress, particularly for critical activities like formwork erection, steel fixing, concrete pouring, and finishing works (plastering, tiling). Ensure all work meets the company's and Consultant's quality standards.
  • Material Control: Monitor and manage the receipt, storage, and utilization of construction materials on site, minimizing waste and ensuring the right materials are used.

3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  • Safety Enforcement: The primary person responsible for enforcing safety regulations at the work face. Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure all workers wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Safe Work Practices: Ensure all work is performed as per the approved Method Statement and Risk Assessment. Stop any unsafe work immediately and report hazards to the HSE team.
  • Equipment Use: Supervise the safe operation, maintenance, and handling of tools, plant, and machinery used by the crew.

4. Reporting & Coordination

  • Daily Reports: Prepare and submit accurate daily progress reports to the Site Engineer, detailing completed work, manpower deployed, resources consumed, and any site incidents.
  • Liaison: Act as the main point of communication between the Site Engineer and the laborers/sub-contractors on the ground.
  • Issue Resolution: Promptly identify and assist the Site Engineer in resolving site issues related to scope, materials, labor, or quality.
