About the Role

A busy Houston-based law firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in handling high-volume dockets, supporting attorneys from case initiation through trial, and ensuring smooth office operations. We are looking for a professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing excellent support to both clients and attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and discovery responses in state and federal courts
• Accurately e-file documents and track deadlines
• Manage litigation calendars and critical timelines
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, trial binders, and witness coordination
• Maintain oversight of multiple active cases
• Support attorneys and staff with case workflow and procedural compliance
• Help refine and implement firm procedures and SOPs
• Provide professional client communication and updates throughout litigation

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in civil litigation (plaintiff-side preferred)
• Strong file-to-trial and trial prep experience required
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred (or 10+ years practical litigation experience)
• Prior legal office or project management experience is a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Skills & Requirements

• Strong drafting, calendaring, and e-filing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., MyCase, Slack, Zoom)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Notary certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must live within 30 minutes of the office
• Background check required
