Startitup helps businesses scale with end-to-end digital, design, and growth solutions. We are expanding our sales team and seeking a Business Development Manager who thrives on building relationships, winning projects, and turning opportunities into long-term revenue.


Role Overview

You will own the full bidding and client-acquisition cycle on Upwork and Fiverr, nurture relationships, and drive cross-sell/upsell across our services. This role suits a self-starter who understands freelance marketplaces and can consistently convert briefs into closed deals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Bidding & Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and bid on relevant projects on Upwork and Fiverr with tailored proposals and win strategies.
  • Client Communication: Run discovery calls/chats, clarify scope and deliverables, and shape solutions aligned to client goals.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate pipeline, forecast weekly, and keep CRM notes up to date.
  • Cross-Sell & Upsell: Map client needs to Startitup’s wider services to increase average deal size and lifetime value.
  • Relationship Building: Nurture accounts for repeat work and referrals through proactive follow-ups and value-led check-ins.
  • Targets & Reporting: Meet monthly revenue, conversion, and response-time targets; share insights to improve win rates.


Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on bidding and client management on Upwork and/or Fiverr with a proven win record.
  • Marketplace Mastery: Strong understanding of platform algorithms, job selection, proposal positioning, and buyer psychology.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English; clear, structured, and persuasive.
  • Sales Skills: Objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
  • Organization: Strong time management; able to priorities high-value opportunities and hit deadlines.
  • Analytical: Comfortable tracking results, testing approaches, and iterating to improve conversion.


Nice to Have

  • Experience on Freelancer, People Per Hour, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of digital marketing, design, web development, or SEO services.
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales analytics tools.
