CNC Milling Machinist

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC milling machines, including proto-trk-controlled equipment, to produce precise parts according to blueprints and technical drawings
  • Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining processes
  • Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, optimizing tool paths for efficiency and quality
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal operation
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs of machined components
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve workflow while maintaining safety standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, particularly Fanuc controls or similar systems
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software for efficient machine setup and operation
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, fixtures, and machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and assembly techniques
  • Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and welding equipment when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control in a fast-paced production environment

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
