IT & Operational Technology Support Specialist
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on
IT & Operational Technology (OT) Support Specialist
to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert supporting both traditional IT systems and shop-floor technology ensuring our production environment stays connected, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Network Support

Provide daily support for computers, industrial PCs, printers, and handheld devices across the plant.

Troubleshoot and maintain network equipment (routers, switches, access points) to ensure stable connectivity in fabrication areas.

Support plant servers, backup systems, and local data storage in collaboration with corporate IT.
Shop-Floor Systems & Operational Technology

Support and maintain HMI terminals, SCADA systems, CNC machines, PLC workstations, and fabrication-specific software.

Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure OT systems are networked, secure, and operating with minimal downtime.

Assist in integrating machine monitoring and production data systems.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection

Implement and monitor security best practices across IT and OT environments.

Ensure compliance with policies on endpoint protection, data backup, and disaster recovery.

Monitor network traffic and logs to identify and respond to potential threats.
Software Administration

Install, configure, and maintain software for design, production, and operations (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, nesting, ERP/MRP, etc.).

Manage Active Directory users, group policies, and role-based access controls.
IT Project Support

Support digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives across the plant.

Maintain documentation, configuration details, and asset inventories.

Provide user training and promote IT best practices across departments.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3–5 years of IT support experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, networking, and industrial software.

Familiarity with CNC machines, PLC/HMI interfaces, or SCADA systems.

Understanding of cybersecurity principles for industrial settings.
Preferred:

Experience with
Fortinet Firewalls

Industry certifications (CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco).

Experience with
CAD/fabrication software
(AutoCAD, SolidCAM, SigmaNEST).

Knowledge of ruggedized industrial devices and machine network integration.
