Job Summary

The Cold Shear Assistant will support the Cold Shear Operator in cutting steel billets or bars to specific lengths using the cold shear machine. This role is essential in maintaining smooth production flow, ensuring accurate cutting, and adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Cold Shear Operator in operating the machine.
• Prepare raw materials for cutting and position them correctly.
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure correct lengths and quality.
• Remove cut pieces and stack or transfer them for further processing.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
• Report mechanical or operational issues immediately.
• Follow all plant safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Support basic machine maintenance activities under supervision.

Requirements

• Basic education; technical exposure preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in steel manufacturing or industrial machinery operation.
• Ability to handle materials and work near cutting machinery.
• Good understanding of safety practices in production areas.
• Physically fit to work in high-temperature environments and handle repetitive tasks.
• Ability to follow operator instructions accurately.
