Job Summary

The Cooling Bed Assistant will support the operation of the cooling bed section where hot steel bars are cooled, aligned, and transferred for further processing. The role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work in high-temperature environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and guiding steel bars as they move across the cooling bed.
• Ensure bars are properly aligned and spaced for uniform cooling.
• Remove jammed or misaligned bars safely using tools provided.
• Support equipment operators in handling workflow and production tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe working conditions in the cooling bed area.
• Report abnormalities, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE due to heat exposure.
• Assist in minor maintenance or lubrication tasks as instructed.

Requirements

• Basic education; industrial work experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in steel plants or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• Ability to work in very hot environments near freshly rolled steel.
• Physically fit and capable of handling repetitive tasks.
• Strong awareness of safety practices in production areas.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate with operators effectively.
