Collections Supervisor

Northwest Respiratory Services is seeking a Collections Supervisor. This person will be responsible for preparing complete, accurate and compliant billing, follow up with insurance carriers and/or patients to resolve and collect open balances in a timely manner. Be flexible and adaptable. The Lead position in this department also serves as a resource to the other team members and assists the department manager with other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Nursing Home collections, and oversight of private pay collections
  • Oversee collections department
  • Develop and execute effective collection strategies to minimize overdue payments.
  • Communicate with clients to address outstanding invoices, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment terms.
  • Document all collection activities, maintaining accurate records.
  • Review and evaluate collection reports, including Monthly Bad Debt and Weekly Sales Reports.
  • Process billing tasks, handle customer service inquiries related to billing and collections.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Service Teams to resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Review daily billing, work on denials/correspondence, process insurance changes.
  • Submit and monitor Prior Authorization requests, ensuring compliance with medical policies.
  • Efficiently manage daily tasks, including emails, voicemails, and Aged Receivables.
  • Monitor billing trends for assigned payers and report observations to the manager.

Key Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of total collections experience
  • 1-2 years of experience leading, training, or supervising others
  • Solid knowledge of collections regulations, escalations, and process improvement
  • Previous Management experience in medical billing.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Understanding of HIPPA laws to handle confidential personal and medical information
  • Knowledge of Brightree software a plus!
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel
