Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Lead the commerce content strategy across Hearst Magazines, with a strong focus on lifestyle brands.
  • Manage a team of strategists and ensure commerce initiatives are effectively prioritized and executed.
  • Establish and communicate best practices across brands to optimize content for conversion and engagement.
  • Set performance targets for key shopping tentpoles and oversee their successful execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners—audience development, business development, product, marketing, and editorial—to identify and scale new opportunities.
  • Oversee the development of data-driven content strategies and share actionable insights across the organization.
  • Partner with General Managers to build business cases, model revenue potential, and define KPIs for commerce initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, strategic thinking, and accountability within your team.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
  • 6+ years of experience in business development, content strategy, or marketing, ideally within a digital media company focused on affiliate commerce.
  • Proven people manager with experience developing talent and managing multiple priorities.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and create actionable reports using tools like Excel, Looker, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills; capable of simplifying complex ideas and building cross-functional relationships.
  • Creative problem-solver who approaches challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Hybrid schedule: this role requires working from the NYC office 4 days per week.

The base salary for this role is between $116,000 - $140,000 . The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
