Summary

The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the development of commercial documents such as proposals, work orders, change orders, and amendments. Support the Engineered Performance Lines of Businesses and work closely with other stakeholders to ensure that the contract requirements are successfully delivered.

Primary Duties

  • Manage production and distribution of all commercial documents and ensure proposal format and commercial terms and conditions meet the Company’s corporate standard.
  • Coordinate with the Company’s legal team for negotiations of commercial contract terms and conditions by the Company’s legal team.
  • Develop project specific commercial deal structures for commercial documents such as proposals, work orders, change orders, and amendments.
  • Ensure proposals and bids are technically and commercially sound.
  • Assess and mitigate commercial risks in deals and projects.
  • Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
  • Support responses to Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and pre-qualification of vendor packages to ensure all responses are in compliance with customer’s instruction.
  • Manage and track commercial information within the CRM system.
  • Engage with various departments (Sales, Legal, Line of Business, etc.) to define, produce and assemble responses to the Customer.
  • Perform final quality assurance of documents being transmitted to all customers or external parties.
  • Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained prior to turnover to the Execution Team.
  • Lead commercial turnover for work orders, change orders, extensions or renewals, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for additional tasks as may be assigned.

Working Relationships

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Management, the Commercial Manager will support the Engineered Performance Lines of Businesses and will work closely with other stakeholders to ensure that the contract requirements are successfully delivered.

Compensation

The initial compensation is$123,500 to $142,050

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, technical, or related field OR 5 years of experience in Power Generation, Process or Manufacturing Industries.
  • Years of Experience:
    • Seven years’ experience with estimating, bidding, and proposal development.
    • Seven years’ experience with Commercial Contracts Management.
    • Seven years’ experience working with Commercial contract structures including fundamental legal concepts such as indemnity insurance and limits of liability.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to manage time, multi-task, re-prioritize when needed, while keeping pace with schedule for on-time delivery of commercial documents.
  • Ability to work with management, operations, and project staff at the Corporate Office and remote staff at multiple locations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail oriented and proficient at document formatting in MS Office.
  • Ability to quickly navigate software applications such as CRM and SharePoint.
  • Ability to organize commercial documents within project folders and manage revision control of commercial documents throughout execution of the project.
  • Skilled in estimating software and excel.
  • Ability to collect data from verbal input as well as hard copy documents; then distill this input into concise proposals that can be easily read and comprehended.
  • Editing and proofreading skills along with the ability to work to a deadline.
  • Solid understanding of Commercial contract structures including fundamental legal concepts such as indemnity insurance and limits of liability.
  • Ability to work directly with and meet with Customers. Serve as the mediator between Sales, the Customer, and the Execution teams.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of commercial management & proposal development process.
  • Proficient at technical writing and proposal development utilizing the Company’s standards to deliver compliant proposals.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Required to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and work on a computer; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Fit for Duty
