The Communications Specialist supports the organization’s communication strategy by coordinating content workflows, managing digital and social media activities, and assisting with internal and external communications. This role helps ensure timely, accurate, and consistent messaging to employees, agents, and policyholders while maintaining brand and compliance standards.
Accountabilities:
Content and Process Development
- Develop, document, and maintain intake, review, and publishing processes and procedures for communication requests.
- Coordinate communication workflows across departments to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent messaging.
- Track deliverables, feedback, and approvals across stakeholders; communicate clearly with internal teams to align expectations and timelines.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure messaging accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic goals
Content Creation
- Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing internal employee-focused communications including announcements, newsletters, and digital content.
- Support the development and distribution of clear, effective communications to agents and policyholders; collaborate with internal teams to ensure materials meet compliance and accuracy standards.
- Draft, schedule, and publish digital content to support key audience awareness of The Mutual Group and its member companies; monitor engagement and track key performance metrics to inform future content strategy.
- Ensure brand consistency and adherence to company tone, voice, and style guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (required).
- Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or a related area.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Experience managing social media platforms and analyzing engagement metrics.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with project planning, content management, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Monday.com, HubSpot, Igloo, SharePoint, Google Analytics, etc.). Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and HTML is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus.
Compensation:
- $57,000 - $76,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibility
