Construction Cost Estimator

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Construction Cost Estimator to test in-house estimating on our internal software to calculate the materials that will be going into a single family and multi family home builds. In this role, you will leverage estimating software for framing, trim, and potentially door estimates off of plans, blue prints, etc. for and then participate in quality checks. This role is 4 days a week with preference to candidates sitting in the Vancouver, WA areas.

Day to day:

• Working off of a set of plans/documents/blueprints to do a takeoff set to calculate all the materials that will go into a new home build or remodel
• Calculating how much wood, sheeting, flooring systems will go into a new build or remodel
• Review project plans and specifications to understand scope and requirements.
• Input data into estimating software to perform digital takeoffs and generate cost breakdowns.
• Calculate material, labor, and subcontractor costs using up-to-date pricing databases.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and suppliers to validate assumptions and gather quotes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for internal teams or clients.
• Revise estimates based on design changes, feedback, or updated pricing.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements:

• Experience doing "takeoffs" to calculate all of the materials and costs that go into a new build (commercial & residential)
• 2+ years working with CAD or BIM
• 2+ years of experience in residential construction estimating, preferably in both new builds and remodels.
• Proven experience using estimating software such as STACK, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, PlanSwift, Knowify, Sage Construction Suite, Buildxact etc.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
• Proficient in digital takeoffs and cost modeling to determine the materials and costs that will go into new builds for residential single family and multifamily homes as well as commercial remodel/new construction.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and project management tools.

This role is offering between $30-35/hr on W2. This role requires a 5-day onsite working week in the Vancouver, WA area. This role is moving quickly with one interview to hire starting early next week!
