Role Overview
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Construction Director to oversee the delivery of large-scale civil and infrastructure projects involving complex structural concrete works, heavy foundations, and high-value construction packages. The role demands technical depth, exceptional leadership, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across all project stages — from planning and procurement to execution and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all construction activities for major concrete and structural works, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.
- Oversee large-volume concrete pours (e.g., podiums, basements, bridges, and high-rise cores) with strict adherence to mix design, temperature control, and pour sequencing standards.
- Develop and implement construction strategies, schedules, and resource plans for multi-billion-riyal or multi-million-dollar projects.
- Manage project delivery through effective coordination with design, procurement, and project controls teams.
- Ensure full compliance with contract specifications, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Lead performance reviews of subcontractors and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Drive technical excellence and innovation in construction methods, equipment utilization, and material management.
- Oversee risk assessment, progress reporting, and cost control measures in collaboration with the commercial and planning teams.
- Provide mentorship and direction to project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to maintain operational discipline and performance excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 20+ years of experience in large-scale civil or infrastructure construction, including high-value structural concrete works.
- Proven track record in managing mega or giga projects, preferably in the GCC region.
- Deep technical knowledge of mass concrete placement, temperature monitoring, curing methods, and quality assurance protocols.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills; able to represent the company in front of clients, consultants, and JV partners.
- Proficient in construction planning and project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Commitment to safety excellence, cost efficiency, and delivery within tight schedules.
Preferred Background
- Experience with Tier-1 contractors or developers on infrastructure, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, ISO/QMS, and international best practices in construction management.
- Prior involvement in mega concrete operations exceeding 5,000 m³ per pour.
