Job Overview

Duties

• Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work using industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and material pricing to establish accurate budgets for commercial construction projects.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and project timelines that align with client expectations and company standards.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets through diligent cost control measures.
• Review and analyze contracts, change orders, and project schedules to identify potential risks or cost implications early on.
• Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that inform scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.

Skills

• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and contractual terms with vendors and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, site management, and safety protocols gained through hands-on construction site experience.
• Expertise in cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial analysis specific to commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of contracts, legal considerations, and project management principles within the construction industry.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation accurately. Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Construction estimating: 3 years (Preferred)
• Bidding projects : 3 years (Preferred)
• reading construction drawings and project plans: 3 years (Preferred)
• managing multiple projects : 3 years (Preferred)
