The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing competitive bids, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating with subcontractors, and tracking project opportunities. You will play a key role in helping the company secure new projects and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project scopes
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Prepare and submit accurate bid proposals
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Analyze labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Maintain and track bid logs and project pipelines
- Follow up on submitted bids with clients and general contractors
- Coordinate with project managers and field teams
- Maintain accurate project documentation and estimating records
- Assist in budget development and cost planning
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience minimum in construction estimating
- Experience with residential and commercial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Experience with estimating software or digital takeoff tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
Preferred Skills
- Experience with QuickBid, PlanHub, On-Screen Takeoff, ConstructConnect, Autodesk or similar estimating software
- Experience working with subcontractor scopes and bid leveling
- Knowledge of local construction costs and subcontractor networks
