Job Summary:

The Construction Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of field instruments and control systems in construction or industrial project environments. The role ensures accurate measurement, safe operation, and compliance with client specifications and industry standards during project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and loop-check instrumentation devices such as transmitters, control valves, gauges, and sensors for pressure, flow, level, and temperature.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument index sheets.
  • Perform calibration and functional testing of instruments using standard testing tools (e.g., HART communicator, multimeter, pressure calibrator).
  • Assist in cable tray installation, glanding, and termination of instrument cables.
  • Coordinate with electricians, mechanical, and control teams during system integration.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests under supervision of the I&C Engineer.
  • Troubleshoot faults in instrumentation circuits and control loops.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installation, calibration, and test results.
  • Support QA/QC and inspection activities as per project ITP and vendor standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma / Certificate in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in construction or industrial projects (Oil & Gas, Power Plant, Water, or Manufacturing).
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • CompEx / Hazardous Area Awareness
  • Calibration & Loop Checking Certification
  • HSE Induction / Permit to Work

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, sensors, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC/DCS control interfaces.
  • Proficiency with field calibration tools and communication protocols (HART, 4–20mA).
  • Basic understanding of hazardous area classification (Ex d, Ex ia, etc.).
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
