Construction Safety Manager

Overview
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s safety program to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role oversees safety training, conducts jobsite inspections, ensures compliance with OSHA and industry regulations, and promotes a culture of safety across all departments and crews.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs tailored to construction site activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, enforce safety protocols, and ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies to prevent accidents, injuries, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety training sessions for staff, subcontractors, and visitors to promote awareness of occupational health standards and safe work practices.
  • Monitor adherence to construction management software systems related to safety documentation, incident reporting, and compliance tracking.
  • Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, documenting findings thoroughly and implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Oversee toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site-specific hazard assessments (JSAs).
  • Stay current with evolving EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance across all projects.
  • Work closely with field supervisors, operations, survey crews, and leadership to promote safety-first culture.
  • Serve as the point of contact for safety questions, enforcement decisions, and compliance standards.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles specific to construction environments.
  • Extensive experience with occupational health standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and enforce safety expectations professionally.
  • Proven ability to manage workers' compensation processes efficiently.
  • Expertise in construction management software for safety documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Demonstrated capability in construction site experience with a focus on safety oversight.
  • Excellent skills in compliance management, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,840.00 - $58,240.00 per year
