Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enforce Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance across all high-rise construction site activities.
- Ensure full adherence to Kingdom of Bahrain safety regulations, company HSE standards, and client safety requirements.
- Perform routine site inspections, risk assessments, and proactive hazard identification.
- Monitor critical activities including work at height, tower crane operations, lifting activities, scaffolding erection/dismantling, excavation, and heavy machinery operations.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and permit-to-work systems.
- Deliver site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety awareness programs.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near-misses; prepare comprehensive investigation reports with corrective actions.
- Ensure proper implementation and compliance with PPE requirements for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Interface with regulatory authorities including the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Works when required.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, safety statistics, training records, and compliance reports.
- Support emergency response planning, conduct fire and evacuation drills, and ensure availability of first aid and firefighting equipment.
Key Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory). Additional safety certifications will be an advantage.
- Minimum 4–6 years of HSE experience within large-scale construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in high-rise or multi-story building construction (mandatory).
- Previous GCC experience required; experience in Bahrain highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of lifting plans, scaffolding standards, work-at-height regulations, and heavy equipment safety controls.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to implement and enforce HSE policies with authority and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive safety mindset.
