Construction Safety Officer

Are you a hands-on safety professional who brings order, energy, and real-world problem-solving to the jobsite? We’re hiring a proactive Construction Safety Officer to serve as the on-site guardian of health and safety across our projects. You’ll ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including OSHA 29 CFR 1926), lead engaging training sessions, and build a safety-first culture where safety is part of how we work—not an afterthought. You’ll walk the sites, spot risks before others do, and hold the line on standards without sacrificing productivity. Crews respect you because you’re practical, consistent, and know construction—not just rules.

If you’ve led safety on active construction sites and want real ownership instead of paperwork-only roles, this is that job.

What You’ll Get

· Competitive salary (based on experience)

· Health benefits

· Paid time off + holidays

· Long-term career growth into leadership roles

· A company that actually values structure, accountability, and teamwork

· The opportunity to help shape how a growing company operates

What You’ll Do: Construction Safety Leader (Own the Jobsite Safety Standard Across Every Crew)

· Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards (e.g., unprotected edges, scaffold issues, improper equipment or PPE use).

  • Lead dynamic safety training: Toolbox Talks, new-hire orientations, and specialized sessions (fall protection, confined space entry, lift training, etc.).
  • Keep the site audit-ready: maintain safety logs, training records, OSHA 300 logs, and other required documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence—champion transparent reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and update site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) that address project-specific risks.
  • Oversee inspection, tagging, and proper use of tools, machinery, and PPE.
  • Drive cultural change: help integrate safety into everyday work, not as a separate task.
  • Implement and follow ABC’s STEP framework to standardize safe practices across projects.
  • Actively manage incidents and safety programs to improve our experience modification rating below .9 and reduce workers’ compensation impact.
  • Drive proactive incident response to strengthen our safety performance

Who You Are (Required Skills & Qualifications)

· You are the person everyone trusts to keep the jobsite safe—and you don’t wait to be told.

  • 3–5+ years of direct safety experience on construction jobsites.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction (required).
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, NEC standards, workers' compensation procedures, and compliance management practices.
  • CSP or CHST (highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management techniques specific to the construction industry.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Construction Management, or related field — or equivalent field experience.
  • Comfortable using safety management software and digital tools for real-time reporting.
  • Strong communicator who can bridge office leadership and field crews, lead by example, and earn trust.

Physical Requirements & Travel

  • Comfortable navigating active construction sites: climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, and working in varied weather.
  • Able to stand/walk for extended inspections.
  • Regular travel to job sites as required.

Our Core Values (what drives our work)

  • Trust is Our Foundation
  • Teamwork is Our Edge
  • Always Learning, Always Teaching
