About the Role

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist at Picoma, a division of Zekelman Industries, located in Cambridge, OH, you will play a key role in optimizing operational processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong project management and problem-solving skills who can translate data into actionable strategies that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

You will collaborate closely with plant leadership, production teams, and cross-functional departments to identify improvement opportunities, implement best practices, and ensure process standardization. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys working hands-on with teams, and is passionate about efficiency, safety, and innovation.

Work Model: On-site, with occasional travel to other Zekelman facilities, vendor visits, and trade events.

What You’ll Do

• Leads and promotes safe work practices in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Develops, documents, and maintains detailed work instructions for all key operational processes.
• Benchmarks team performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and develops action plans to enhance productivity and quality.
• Implements process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and statistical analysis techniques.
• Collaborates with teams to execute improvement plans and measures their effectiveness.
• Utilizes internal expertise and external resources to resolve technical challenges and optimize performance.
• Drives continuous improvement across all areas of operations, challenging teams and leadership to achieve higher performance levels.
• Prepares reports and communicates progress and outcomes to the Plant Manager and relevant stakeholders.
• Supports training and coaching efforts to ensure sustainable process improvements.
• Travels occasionally to other company locations and vendors as needed.

Who You Are

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with focus on lean manufacturing, statistical analysis, or project management.
• Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement or lean process initiatives in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to apply statistical tools to evaluate and improve processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly present data and improvement plans.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled at working collaboratively with local and remote colleagues to achieve common goals.
• Able to teach and coach others effectively, balancing accountability with patience and clarity.
• Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to define scope, objectives, risks, and expected outcomes for improvement projects.
