Cook - Asian Cuisines (Catering)

Roles & Responsibilities

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Asian Cook / Chef to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Asian cuisine and will be responsible for preparing a variety of traditional Asian dishes. The Asian Cook will work closely with the catering team to ensure the timely preparation and presentation of high-quality, flavorful meals that reflect authentic Asian culinary traditions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, preparation and presentation of a wide range of traditional Asian dishes to the required standards of quality, in line with client and company requirements while attaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Collaborate with the catering manager or clients to develop customized Asian menus based on event themes, dietary preferences, and customer needs.
  • Prepare food in large quantities, taking into account proper storage and transportation requirements for catering events.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and well-organized before, during, and after the activities.
  • Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations (e.g., proper food storage, handling, and cooking techniques).
  • Maintain an inventory of catering equipment and ensure all necessary tools are available for food preparation and service.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff or assistants, ensuring they follow proper cooking procedures and safety protocols.
  • Prepare menus and use standardized recipes
  • Oversee proper handling, packaging and storage of foodstuff and ensure the stock rotation procedures are maintained.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Must have minimum 05 years of experience in catering companies / hotels / restaurant
  • Should be able to communicate in English with computer literacy
  • Knowledge of Stock Control and Management
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, Hygiene and HACCP guidelines
  • Customer-focused with the ability to address client requests and feedback in a positive, professional manner.
