Job Description:
The Pastry Chef oversees the preparation and production of desserts and baked items, ensuring high quality, consistency, and presentation standards. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, bread, desserts, and other baked goods
- Create and decorate cakes and pastries with artistic presentation
- Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items
- Ensure quality, taste, and consistency of all products
- Monitor stock levels and order baking ingredients as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Supervise and guide junior pastry staff when required
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and dessert preparation
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Additional Requirements (optional):
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, or bakery operations
- Culinary or pastry training certification is an advantage
