Core Site Crew - Lead Installer/ Foreman - Kwajalein, Marshall Island

The Air Barrier Installer is responsible for the proper installation of air and vapor barrier systems on commercial, industrial, and government construction projects. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying materials in accordance with project specifications, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install air barrier and vapor barrier systems (sheet membranes, fluid-applied barriers, self-adhered membranes, spray-applied systems, etc.) on building exteriors and other designated surfaces.
  • Prepare work surfaces by cleaning, priming, and repairing substrates to meet installation requirements.
  • Apply sealants, flashing, and tapes to ensure airtight continuity at penetrations, joints, and terminations.
  • Follow project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation guidelines.
  • Conduct field quality checks (adhesion tests, thickness checks, continuity inspections) to verify compliance.
  • Identify and report substrate or site conditions that may affect system performance.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely, including sprayers, rollers, knives, and heat welders.
  • Work at heights using scaffolds, boom lifts, or manlifts in accordance with OSHA/EM 385-1-1 standards.
  • Maintain daily records of work performed and assist with project documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, quality control managers, and other trades to ensure sequencing and compatibility of work.
  • Follow company and client safety protocols, including use of PPE and hazard reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in construction preferred).
  • Experience in building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, or similar trade (air barrier training/certification a plus).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of material handling, mixing, and application procedures for air barrier products.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and site safety requirements.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions and at heights.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
