Role Purpose:


To strategically develop and manage the group's relationships with banking and financial institutions, securing optimal financing terms and services. This role is central to managing the group's liquidity, funding, and financial risk, while providing leadership to the treasury team and supporting the Director of Corporate Treasury in executing the corporate treasury strategy.



Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities


1. Banking Relationship & Financing Strategy:


  • Cultivate and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with local and international banks and financial institutions.
  • Support the Director of Corporate Treasury in negotiations to secure competitive borrowing facilities, services, and terms that align with the group's strategic requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of comprehensive financing proposals and business cases for new facilities (including general corporate, investment, project, and Capex financing).
  • Coordinate the annual review process for all banking facilities across the group's holding company (AHC) and strategic business units (SBUs).


2. Treasury & Fund Management:


  • Develop and execute effective cash flow planning, investment strategies, and hedging activities to maximize returns on surplus funds and minimize financial costs and risks.
  • Manage the group's foreign exchange exposure and execute money market deals.
  • Provide expert guidance on concentration risk management and liquidity contingency planning.
  • Continuously monitor and oversee treasury and investment limits.
  • Develop and enhance robust internal control mechanisms to safeguard the group's financial assets.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of the Treasury module (ERP) in collaboration with ICT and external consultants.


3. Financial Analysis & Reporting:


  • Prepare and analyze monthly treasury reports for senior management, including:
  • Bank facility summaries and reconciliations.
  • SBU balance summaries and reconciliations.
  • Financial covenant tracking.
  • Financing cost analysis.
  • Interest Rate Swap (IRS) reports.
  • Detailed loan portfolio analysis.


4. People Management & Development:


  • Manage, mentor, and monitor the performance of the treasury team (including Senior Treasury Specialists, Treasury Specialists, and Bank Messengers).
  • Conduct ongoing performance reviews, set clear goals, and ensure all team members are working towards individual development plans.
  • Identify departmental training needs in consultation with the Director of Corporate Treasury and HR to ensure the team possesses the skills required for future challenges.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team remains abreast of technical developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.


5. Ad-hoc Duties:


  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Treasury.



Working Relationships


  • Internal: Frequent interaction with all departments within AHC and across all SBUs.
  • External: Regular engagement with Banks & Financial Institutions, Investment Consultants, Lawyers, Auditors, and ERP Consultants.



Qualifications & Experience


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Certification: Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or equivalent is highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, finance, or banking, with at least 3 years in a similar managerial role within a large, diversified industrial group.
