Cosmetic Product Development In-Charge

The Cosmetic Product Development In-Charge is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of cosmetic product development — from concept through formulation, testing, and production scale-up. This role involves leading R&D initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working cross-functionally with Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Production to deliver innovative, safe, and high-quality cosmetic products aligned with market trends and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of new cosmetic products including skincare, haircare, and personal care items.
• Research and select raw materials, active ingredients, and packaging in collaboration with procurement.
• Create and optimize formulations based on performance, stability, safety, and cost.
• Conduct stability, compatibility, and efficacy testing of formulations.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including formulations, batch records, and specifications.
• Ensure products comply with regulatory standards (e.g. BIS, FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
• Collaborate with marketing on product concepts, claims, and timelines.
• Coordinate with the production team for pilot batches, process validation, and scale-up.
• Troubleshoot formulation or production-related issues.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging ingredients, and new technologies.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certification in Cosmetic Formulation or GMP (preferred).

Experience:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic product formulation and development.
• Proven track record of launching successful cosmetic or personal care products.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of raw materials, emulsion systems, preservatives, and actives used in cosmetics.
• Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory guidelines (e.g. INCI, labeling, stability protocols).
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and formulation software/tools.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs70,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
