Position Title: Cost Control Executive

Job Summary

The Cost Control Executive supports the Finance and Operations teams in monitoring and managing all aspects of cost control and inventory management. The role is responsible for ensuring cost accuracy, maintaining updated records, verifying purchases, and assisting in preparing cost-related reports and analyses. This position contributes directly to cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and profitability optimization across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Monitoring & Analysis

Monitor daily food and beverage costs to ensure alignment with cost budgets and targets.

Prepare and update cost variance, consumption, and yield reports.

Assist in analyzing recipes, standard portions, and cost structures for menu items.

Identify cost deviations and report findings to the Cost Control Manager.

Support in implementing cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements.

2. Inventory Control

Record and verify all inventory movements including receipts, transfers, and returns.

Assist in conducting and reconciling physical stock counts across outlets and stores.

Monitor stock levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess inventory.

Track and report on stock variances, wastage, and spoilage.

Support the warehouse and purchasing teams in maintaining accurate stock data.

3. Purchasing & Receiving Verification

Verify purchase orders, supplier invoices, and receiving reports for accuracy.

Ensure received items are properly documented and recorded in the inventory system.

Monitor price changes and assist in updating item master data when required.

Coordinate with procurement and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies.

4. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost and inventory reports.

Maintain organized and accurate records of all cost control activities.

Support in preparing financial and operational reports for management review.

Assist during audits by providing relevant cost and inventory documentation.

5. Systems & Process Support

Update and maintain cost control systems and databases (e.g., Material Control, SAP, or similar).

Ensure data accuracy and consistency between inventory and accounting systems.

Support the implementation of cost control procedures and best practices.

Provide assistance to other departments in understanding cost-related data and policies.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in cost control, preferably in the F&B or hospitality industry.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management principles.

Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Material Control).

Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical ability.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
