CPA / Financial Operations Manager (Commercial Plaza)
Location: Chester, SC (hybrid or remote with periodic on-site review)
Type: Part-Time or Contract (with potential to expand)
Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented licensed/bonded Bookkeeper to oversee financial operations for a growing commercial/residential/personal portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who goes beyond basic data entry—someone who can bring clarity, structure, and real-time visibility to all financial activity.
The right candidate will ensure that all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and clearly communicated, enabling ownership to make informed, confident decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks
- Track and reconcile multiple income streams (tenant rent, CAM, additional revenue channels)
- Monitor and categorize all expenses and outgoing payments
- Maintain clean, accurate, and audit-ready financial records
- Produce monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
- Generate additional financial reports as needed (cash flow, expense summaries, etc.)
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms
- Coordinate with vendors, tenants, and internal stakeholders on billing and payments
- Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues
- Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and payment tracking
Communication & Reporting Expectations
- Provide regular financial updates (weekly or biweekly summaries)
- Deliver clear, simplified reporting so ownership always understands:
- Current cash position
- Outstanding receivables/payables
- Monthly performance trends
- Serve as a trusted financial point of contact, ensuring nothing “falls through the cracks”
- Flag concerns early and offer solutions, not just reports
Qualifications
- Licensed and bonded bookkeeping (commercial real estate experience a plus)
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
- Experience managing multiple financial inputs and outputs simultaneously
- Ability to produce and interpret P&L reports
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Clear, proactive communicator (this is critical)
- Ability to work independently and bring structure to systems
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership of the full financial picture
- Communicates clearly and consistently
- Anticipates needs rather than reacting to issues
- Brings order to complexity
Compensation
- Competitive hourly or monthly retainer (based on experience and scope)
- Opportunity for expanded role as portfolio grows
