An industry leader in the supply chain management field (manufacturing) is seeking a qualified Purchasing/Customer Support Specialist to join our team. The position entails developing knowledge of the purchasing and customer's needs in order to navigate and manage inquiries and processes effectively. This position ensures business is able to acquire needed materials and relevant items following a budget and keeping records of all transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase and Expedite Materials, Service and Miscellaneous items
• Update Customer Service and Operations with Material status
• Work with suppliers and shipping companies
• Create and update Job Orders
• Maintain accurate data entries of Item Master, Bill of Materials and Routings
• Create regular reports (daily, weekly and monthly) for Management
• Process/Create Engineering change orders
• Other duties

Skills

• MS Office Suite proficiency, particularly MS Excel
• An understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Analytical and multitasking skills
• Able to deal with purchasing issues, communicate with customers and vendors
• Accuracy and attention to detail is critical
• Good organizational and administrative skills
• Proficiency and knowledge of ERP system
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Other helpful skills: Quick learner, proactive

Experience

• Proven work experience as a Buyer; Knowledge of purchasing processes
• Hands on experience with ERP
• Experience in assisting customer service or sales with data entry (preferred)
• Experience working in a manufacturing company (preferred)
• Experience working with drawings & BOM (preferred)
• BS degree in Supply Chain Management or an Associate’s Degree in relevant field a plus
